Remedy or poison, salvation or damnation, medicine as a medium and its role as a theoretical concern are the protagonists in Peggy Kliafa’s new exhibition, with works produced from 2008 to date. From 28/11 in Kappatos Gallery, painkillers, antibiotics, psychotropic drugs and their packaging become the building blocks for the artist’s symmetrical, geometrical creations: images of metal walls, church stained-glass windows, wallpapers, laces, mosaics, even a sculpture of a male figure made of effervescent tablets, whose process of dissolution in water is on view on a video installation.
