Blanket of Relief
2026, Installation/sculpture, patchwork of empty aluminum pills blisters, thin wire and fishing line
Dimensions: 344 x 215 cm
Peggy Kliafas’s Blanket of Relief repurposes a patchwork blanket/sheet from used pills blisters, transforming personal and collective traces of consumption into memory material. Placed in the natural landscape, it activates a sensory contrast between the shine of aluminum and plastic and organic matter, highlighting the fragile relationship of care, body and environment. The promise of healing coexists with overconsumption and pollution, suggesting a planet in need of healing but burdened by the very systems that sustain it. In dialogue with the Athens Observatory, the artwork connects the microscale of the body with the macroscale of the planet, functioning as a symbol of comfort and warning.
